The QA/QC Manager develops, implements, and monitors Walker’s quality assurance and quality control program for the Electrical Services group. This position ensures construction processes, installation methods, materials, and equipment comply with contract specifications, regulatory standards, and Walker’s safety and operational policies and procedures.
The QA/QC Manager also provides training, guidance, and support to field personnel to ensure QA/QC requirements are properly implemented and maintained on each project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in new project planning and assist with determining appropriate installation methods and techniques.
Develop and implement a project-specific QA/QC program before each project begins.
Conduct regular jobsite inspections and walkthroughs.
Evaluate project work to ensure compliance with contract specifications, government regulations, OSHA requirements, and Walker’s safety and operational standards.
Inspect manufactured products, onsite materials, equipment, and installation processes for compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards.
Document and communicate inspection findings accurately and promptly.
Identify noncompliant work or conditions and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Follow up on corrective actions to ensure all identified deficiencies are resolved.
Schedule and attend project coordination meetings and provide QA/QC guidance throughout each phase of the project.
Assess product, compliance, operational, and installation risks.
Assist with developing and implementing risk-management strategies.
Develop and distribute written policies, procedures, and standards related to QA/QC activities.
Interpret project specifications and clarify procedural and installation requirements for field personnel.
Conduct training on Walker’s hot-work policy and monitor compliance with its requirements.
Conduct or oversee company-wide NFPA 70E training.
Develop and implement improvements to the communication, monitoring, documentation, and enforcement of compliance standards.
Prepare, maintain, and submit accurate compliance reports within contractually required timeframes.
Discuss violations and potential stop-work orders with project management and field supervision.
Explain applicable regulations and recommend corrective actions.
Train, direct, and monitor subcontractor compliance as required.
Maintain accurate inspection reports, training records, corrective-action documentation, and other required QA/QC records.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
Active Texas Journeyman Electrician license.
At least five years of experience in electrical project management, electrical supervision, QA/QC program management, or a combination of these areas.
At least five years of experience conducting supervisory training.
At least five years of experience conducting NFPA 70E training.
Thorough knowledge of electrical construction technologies, equipment, processes, installation methods, and systems operating at voltages up to 15 kV.
Thorough knowledge of company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Advanced knowledge of OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures.
OSHA 30-hour certification required. If not currently certified, certification must be obtained within six months of the date of hire.
Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, codes, and regulatory requirements.
Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues before they significantly affect project quality, safety, cost, or schedule.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Ability and willingness to learn new software and technology.
Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with project teams, field personnel, subcontractors, and clients.
Employment is contingent upon meeting all jobsite-specific access requirements and having no outstanding restrictions that prevent access to a jobsite or work with Walker’s general contractors, owners, customers, or other business partners.
Work Environment
Operates primarily in active client construction-site environments.
May be exposed to employees, subcontractors, multiple trades, equipment, noise, dust, weather conditions, and other conditions typically associated with active construction sites.

Climb step stools, ladders ranging from 8 to 10 feet, extension ladders, and three or more flights of stairs.
Bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move on hands and knees between 20 and 50 times per day.
Reach, stretch, grasp, lift, hold, or operate objects with the hands up to 50 times per day.
Use visual abilities that include focus, color perception, and depth perception.
Operate or travel in passenger and commercial vehicles.
