Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International, Inc. (ATL) has partnered with Navarro Research and Engineering, inc. to form Hanford Laboratories and Management Integration (HLMI).  We are seeking applicants for the position of Project Coordinator for the 222-S Laboratory, a DOE facility specializing in the analysis of highly radioactive samples. Work location is in the 200 West Area of the Hanford Site near Richland, WA.


Project Coordinators are responsible for effectively managing assigned analytical projects to meet or exceed customer needs/requirements.

  • Proactively serve customers by ensuring project due dates, schedule, and quality commitments are met.
  • Review analytical data, author project reports, and assist in sample management.
  • Coordinate analyses of customer samples, including monitoring of quality requirements, to meet project deliverables.
  • Review analytical data for completeness and accuracy prior to issuing the final report to the customer.
  • Prepare informational package describing analytical work scope and distribute to analytical work groups.
  • Coordinate and arrange sample shipment and receipt, as needed, and document the shipment.
  • Track samples through the analytical process at the laboratory.
  • Oversee proper storage of data deliverables in the project file and coordinate upload of electronic deliverables to the customer’s database.
  • Initiate disposal of samples using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Perform peer reviews of final analytical reports.
  • Coordinate disposition of samples with the sample custodian at the end of the analytical project cycle.
  • Contact customers to arrange sample returns, as needed.
  • Train less experienced Analytical Project Coordinators.

 Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a BS in Chemistry or other scientific discipline and 7 years related experience, including performing laboratory work is required.
  • Must be knowledgeable of laboratory analytical methods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Chemistry or other scientific discipline and 10 years related experience.
  • Analytical Chemistry and Radiological laboratory work experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated scientific communication skills, knowledge of laboratory operations and quality assurance practices.
  • A commitment to analytical excellence and unwavering ethics.
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic work environment. Candidate will be knowledgeable about Microsoft Office programs (particularly Word and Excel).
  • Experience with writing technical reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and customer service skills that focus on quality, schedule, and compliance with technical requirements.
