Notes:

1. Accountable for accurately identifying, locating, and protecting company fiber assets and preventing costly repair and restoration due to a fiber cut or damage within a dig or excavation site
2. Locating fiber optic cable to identify if the dig site is clear or if a conflict exists based on locating instructions and in relation to company fiber asset records in company systems. Identify and mark all utility locations with paint and capture photos (Prove-IT) for upload to company systems as required.
3. Entry-level technician with experience and/or knowledge of at least one of the four major technician disciplines. Those technical disciplines are: Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET), Switching (circuit-switching/SS7), TCP/IP (routers/higher-layer protocols), and Outside Plant (Fiber locating, OTDR, Mass Fusion Splicing, etc.).
4. Have knowledge of locating fiber optic cable, right-of-way, and As-Builts.
5. Must maintain site security and cleanliness.
6. Must have PC skills and be well versed in Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
7. Must possess the ability to quickly learn corporate databases.
8. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions if necessary.
