Position: Telecom Technician

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Telecom Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing VoIP phone systems and Audio-Visual (AV) equipment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless functionality of our communication infrastructure and AV systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to service calls in the greater Chantilly area as needed.

  • Troubleshoot OHP and simple AV systems. 

  • Dial into legacy phone systems and change position of voicemail, etc. 

  • Troubleshoot overhead paging / intercom systems. 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to address complex technical challenges and implement effective solutions.

  • Training and Support: Provide guidance, training, and technical support to end-users and team members regarding VoIP phone systems and AV equipment operation and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (2+) in troubleshooting VoIP phone systems and AV equipment in a professional setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP, etc.), codecs, and AV technologies.
  • Proficiency in network configuration, LAN/WAN setup, and TCP/IP protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
  • High school  diploma preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, Rauland, etc.) are a plus.
