Position: Special Education Clerk
Department: Campus Special Education
Reports to: Special Education Campus Coordinator
Supervisor: Campus Headmaster
Locations: GH Irving (3350 Story Rd W, Irving, TX 75038), GH Prairie View (9001 US-287, Fort Worth, TX 76131)
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma
College preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
General knowledge of public education and federal and state mandated special programs
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent spelling and attention to detail
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Above average computer skills including Word, Excel, and Microsoft suite, and ability to learn new programs as needed
Maintain professional decorum and protect confidentiality of all staff, parents, and students
Assist program staff with clerical tasks including copies, compiling work packets, sending information home with students, file and distribute records
Monitor completion of compliance tasks/checklists as meetings occur
Gather input data required for meetings and evaluations from parents, teachers, and staff as directed by the Campus Coordinator
Assist with organization of student records; maintain audit files
Prepare compliance reports as requested
Communicate with related services providers and assessment staff regarding student availability for services/evaluation
Assist Coordinator in tracking timelines for annual meetings/evaluations
Assist Coordinator with scheduling of assessments, parent meetings, annual meetings, etc.,
Disseminate updated plan information to teachers, as necessary
Assist teachers with students with students as instructed by the Campus Special Education Coordinator
Maintain professional relationships with staff members and administrators.
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer, copier, etc.
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: School environment
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; ability to handle high-volume, fast paced work load, detailed oriented, good judgment in handling confidential information, flexibility under pressure is a must.
