This position is responsible for the performance, integrity and security of Raiser’s Edge database and is considered the business owner of the software systems used by Development. In addition, the role is responsible for configuration, database design, performance, security, troubleshooting, training of database users and training and management of internal support staff with access to Raiser’s Edge. The position will oversee and is responsible for Development related payment processing efforts including merchant services and third-party platforms and for growing centralized gift and constituent data entry efforts and managing Arizona Employee Give and Matching Gift programs. Primarily responsible for data quality and integration of online fundraising database systems, currently Blackbaud Raiser's Edge database view/RENXT and other feeder systems. Responsible for data standards-of-use and ad-hoc report generation, and user access. Oversees and provides business-user support. Supervises database programmer/analyst position(s), centralized data entry efforts and/or third-party managed services.
Duties & Core Responsibilities
Manages, maintains, and supports the business users of the fundraising systems, currently Blackbaud Raiser's Edge. Works with business users, internal and external stakeholders, to ensure quality data and system management in support of online donation, email, peer to peer, and event campaigns. Defines objectives, gathers information, and translates into technical specifications and procedures the workflows and reports necessary to ensure fundraising data meets business objectives. Designs, creates, and maintains data integration needs. Oversees the implementation and testing of enhancements to the platform(s). Confers with management or development teams to prioritize needs, resolve conflicts, develop content criteria, or select solution enhancements. Maintains understanding of current technologies or development practices through continuing education, reading, or participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups. Incorporates technical considerations into site design plans, such as budgets, equipment, performance requirements, security, or legal issues including accessibility and privacy. Leads, coaches, and develops programmer/analyst or other staff as assigned. Performs other related job duties, as assigned.
Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths
Experience: Demonstrable previous experience with systems implementation and management is required. At the core are leadership, problem-solving, technical and project management skills. Knowledge of IRS policies for gift records and management. Experience and knowledge demonstrated in successful management of data, including data integrity and cross-platform integration. Demonstrated successful support of business users. Proficiency in project management, research and data analysis, program delivery, and business planning.
Education/Certification: Raiser’s Edge bCRE-PRO certification is preferred.
Data Systems: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, but a master’s degree in computer systems or business administration is preferred. Minimum of five years’ experience with Raiser’s Edge. Proficient in Microsoft Office including strong Excel and Word knowledge.
This position requires an organized, proactive, and energetic individual who will work effectively with donors, corporations, and internal stakeholders.
Type of fingerprint clearance: Must possess or obtain valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP level fingerprint clearance card.
Physical functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately.
Travel required: Occasional errands as it pertains to the coordination of the Major Gifts team needs.
