Job Title: Delivery Driver - Non CDL

Summary:

This entry level role is responsible for delivering a variety of products to customers in the Greater Seattle area (Everett, Tacoma, Bellevue) using a large delivery truck or van. This role provides excellent customer service to our customers and utilizes technology for data tracking at the point of sale.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Product Delivery – Approximately 24 Hours Per Week

  • Deliver compostable packaging to customers.
  • Deliver bagged compost products during spring/fall sales.
  • Deliver Sound Bites food deliveries as needed.
  • Visit customers to ensure quality service, educate and introduce new products, explore customer needs and how company may serve them in different ways.
  • Become a resource to customers as a product and service consultant and implement win-win solutions.
  • Reach out to customers via phone and email to schedule deliveries and proactively inform customers of delays in shipment.

Container Delivery – Approximately 8 Hours Per Week

  • Deliver, Relocate and/or Remove composting and recycling containers at customer sites.
  • Repair containers and install locks, labels, and informational stickers on containers.

Warehouse Management – Approximately 16 Hours Per Week

  • Perform monthly inventory counts and keep warehouse clean and organized.
  • Order compostable packaging materials in order to maintain proper inventory levels based on historical & projected sales figures.
  • Miscellaneous Duties
  • Participate in community outreach events as needed.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate daily work flow with Operations Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Problem Solving: ability to analyze, interpret and evaluate problems and provide practical, cost effective solutions.
  • Time Management: ability to plan, prioritize, and manage a self-directed work load in order to meet customer expectations.
  • Logistics: ability to effectively navigate through the Greater Seattle area.
  • Professional phone etiquette and strong customer services skills.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal).
  • Ability to operate an unpowered hand pallet truck and Sit Down Center Control forklift as well as the ability to obtain and maintain certification to operate a forklift.

Desired Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft’s Office Suite, Apple & Android tablets and mobile phones.
  • Sales experience and/or Customer Service experience.
  • Ability to apply common sense and good judgment to everyday situations; ability to see all sides of an issue and use good judgment and common sense to effect win/win solutions.
  • Intimate knowledge of the city of Seattle and its various neighborhoods.

Education/Certification:

  • Graduation from high school or a GED equivalent.

Experience/Other:

  • Must be comfortable driving ‘larger trucks’, such as a Dodge Sprinter Van or non-CDL Refrigerator Truck.
  • Must have a valid and current State of Washington driver’s license.
  • Clean driving record or the ability to meet insurability standards.

Physical Demands:

To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to sit for more than 4 hours per day, answer and talk on telephone, email, work with computer system up to 4 hours per day and drive a motor vehicle.  On occasion lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
