DEFINITION:

The registered dietitian supports the primary care and specialty care providers by providing nutrition assessment, education, monitoring and management to patients, and caregivers supporting patients with chronic conditions, and those at risk for developing chronic nutrition related conditions. In collaboration with others on the healthcare team the registered dietitian develops and implements an individualized care plan designed to promote understanding and management of the patient condition(s), optimize quality of life and improve clinical outcomes.

EDUCATION:

As required by Commission of Dietetic Registration

REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE):

Registration as a Dietitian with the Commission of Dietetic Registration and licensing with the State of Oklahoma

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Master’s Degree preferred
