Position Summary
You will be working with a dynamic team of system engineers responsible for design decisions, implementation, and programming in all areas of A/V Systems and the technical direction of multiple projects across multiple programs for operations. Responsibilities include designing the systems hardware and software framework for large complex resilient systems and formulating high-level architectural solutions to ensure implemented solutions meet stakeholder needs, standards, and performance requirements. Essential responsibilities and activities include but are not limited to:
- Creating Drawing Packages and Bill of Materials in CAD.
- Design, installation, configuration, integration programming and testing of complex videoconferencing and integrated audio/visual technologies (videoconferencing, control systems, displays, video walls and matrix systems, audio reinforcement systems, cameras, microphones, document cameras, streaming technologies, etc.) and A/V based collaboration technologies
- Design, integration and configuration of audio/video systems with Crestron, AMX and Extron control systems
- Conduct customer site surveys and provide sales engineering support, including collecting and recording detailed operational, functional and technical requirements, developing project scopes, and providing overall system costing for A/V projects
- Design, integrate, test and troubleshoot various network and telecommunications systems including IP networks and ISDN networks
- Understanding plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and equipment needed to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of electrical plans, blueprint and drawings
- Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work
- Develop test plans for complex AV control system programming and configuration of AMX, Crestron, and Extron control systems
- Develop and conduct on-site user and administrative training for the installed integrated audio/visual systems
Position / Candidate Requirements
- Active DoD Security clearance preferred; must be eligible to obtain a Top Secret DoD security clearance.
- US Citizenship required
- Familiarity with IT, telecommunications, A/V and electrical equipment including related materials and specifications
- Strong knowledge of videoconferencing standards
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints
- Experience performing complex design/build and conceptual design practices
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Solid Microsoft Office Skills
- AutoCAD experience, or experience drafting with a similar drafting software
- Strong Oral, Written and Presentation Skills with the ability and experience communicating directly with executive leadership
- Solid problem solving and consultative skills in a fast-paced environment
- Education: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a Related Engineering Discipline
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 5-7 years' OR Master's Degree in Engineering with 3-5 years' of progressive experience in the following:
- Developing and implementing hardware and software solutions for data center and virtual infrastructure technologies
- Demonstrated experience with developing cost estimates and work breakdown structures for the design and implementation of complex projects
- Demonstrated experience performing technical cross-training/coaching of junior colleagues
- Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objective
- Ability to travel internationally up to 20% of the time
