M.C. Dean is currently looking to hire a Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) to support cleared work.
The position location will be a mixture of the M.C. Dean Corporate Headquarters in Tysons, Virginia, and significant time at customer locations in Maryland. This position is not eligible to support remote work.
This position will report to the Vice President of Corporate Security, however, will be responsible for working effectively with the leadership teams of M.C. Dean’s Strategic Business Units.
Duties include:
- In accordance with Intelligence Community and Department of Defense rules, regulations and policies, contract language, and M.C. Dean policies, provide support ensuring M.C. Dean is compliant with all contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Provide direct support in the creation and execution of security plans for proposals and contracts.
- Ensure the correct and timely submission of forms through appropriate channels to facilitate MCD personnel clearance, access, and connectivity to work locations along with required personnel and physical security documentation.
- Ensure appropriate reports on Security matters are accurately completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Work effectively and collaborate with other members of M.C. Dean Security and groups including, but not limited to: MCD Leadership Team, Strategic Business Units, Human Resources, Safety, and Logistics.
- Produce complete, accurate reports on security systems used by MCD employees.
- Ensure all assigned work locations are compliant with established security protocols.
- Ensure all employees, contractors, visitors are appropriately badged in assigned areas of responsibility. Assist with the creation and updating of access badges, as necessary.
- Ensure all M.C. Dean Security policies and approved client security procedures are followed.
- Serve as a direct link for work locations and Strategic Business Units to ensure Security procedures, policies and requirements are known and met.
- Assist with all audit requirements.
- Conduct any additional required duties as identified and needed.
Candidate qualifications:
- At least three years of successful performance in a CSSO or Security Administrator position. If not currently certified as a CSSO, or equivalent, must be able to successfully obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
- Must possess and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance.
- Must have successfully completed a current polygraph.
- Strong capability and knowledge in corporate, industrial, physical, and personnel security processes and procedures including proficiency in the use of SIMS, DISS, and NBIS.

- Work will require the ability to sit for long periods behind a computer screen, typing communications, minimal exposure to weather conditions at work locations, minimal travel in support of security/contract obligations, weekly travel between Maryland locations and MCD Headquarters.
Experience:
- High School Diploma / GED with 10-12 years of experience or
- Associate's degree with 8-10 years of experience or
- Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of experience or
- Master's degree with 3-5 years of experience
