Position: Part-Time After-School Teacher (2024-2025)
ATHENAEUM PROGRAM (Grades K-5): Great Hearts Academies’ After-School Athenaeum is an academic enrichment program in which we provide scholars with activities and lessons that reinforce and extend the lessons learned in the classroom. Additionally, we offer time for individual study, athletics, logic games, etiquette lessons, and other culturally enriching activities complementing our mission as a classical, Great Books, liberal arts institution.
HOMEWORK CLUB PROGRAM (Grades 6-12): Homework Club is a place for students to study, work on homework, and socialize with friends in a structured, supervised environment.
ATHENAEUM TEACHERS: After-School Athenaeum Teachers report to the Campus Coordinator and are responsible for supporting homework time for the scholars in the program (grades K-5) and leading them in a variety of extra-curricular activities (reading, athletics, logic games, art, music, etc.).
HOMEWORK CLUB TEACHERS: Homework Club Teachers report to the Campus Coordinator and are responsible for supporting structured homework and socialization time and for the scholars (grades 6-12) in the program.
Required traits: Some college (preferably with education or liberal arts major), experience with children, excellent communication skills, and ability to lead and teach children.
Hours are flexible (program runs from Monday- Thursday, 3:00-6:00 PM/Friday, 1:00-6:00 PM.) Workdays are in alignment with the Academic Calendar. There are no after-school programs when school is not in session.

Other Requirements:
Must complete Texas Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance and background check.
Physical functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 50 pounds approximately.
