Position: Assistant Headmaster - Instructional Technologies

Primary Purpose:
The Assistant Headmaster of Instructional Technologies will allocate time and oversight to the following areas: 70% Instructional Technology, Teacher Training, and Technology Process Leadership, 20% CTC Assistance for State and School Testing, 10% Operations Assistance with School Operations Department
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Specific job duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Will directly assist with STAAR In-Person Testing and STAAR Interim to plan, implement, and evaluate testing
- Will directly assist with TELPAS/MAP/DIBELS/DMAC/mCLASS to plan, implement, and evaluate testing
- Is the PowerSchool expert and point person for the school.
- Will work directly with Registrars, Teachers, and Admin to ensure PowerSchool is understood and rightly used.
- Will be the project leader for guiding AHMs in quarterly/semesterly grade report protocols, reviews, and
- PowerSchool reports to ensure grades are completed on time
- Will create and finalize the class schedule each school year (with Admin Team input), and will ensure class schedules are updated and communicated to the right people
- Will complete a minimal review of each teacher's Canvas modules in August and then spot check all Canvas modules every two months (with AHM) to ensure aesthetic and academic excellence and consistency with our best practices
- Will ensure all scholars have their log-in setup for all pertinent software
- Will create and maintain the software short list, indicating what software we are using,
- when it was decided, cost, renewal, who uses it, and tech decisions made, etc.
- Maintain and update Canvas course spreadsheet for Tech Team (course creation for the next year).
- Will attend weekly Leadership Meetings and present major agenda items to the Leadership Team each week as needed
- Contributes and offers counsel to Dean and Operations on class placement for scholars for respective grade levels
- As needed, will attend grade-level or other department meetings to ensure open communication and deep dives into pertinent knowledge and skills
- During NFO, NFT and Faculty Training will directly train teachers on most pertinent programs and software
- Will create and offer resources for teachers to best translate great classical education to our particular tech and software platforms
- Will offer weekly office hours and regular monthly training (as created alongside the Admin Team) to offer teacher and tool support
- Will create asynch modules for teachers to complete as prompted to offer teacher and tool support and training
- Will be an essential part of GHO-TX teacher onboarding support, ensuring new hires and mid-year hires have access and resources to their software and tech tools prior to start date
- Will be an essential team member during the 2025 Veeya transfer, offering support, assistance, and leadership with certain steps along the project timeline
- At the end of the year, will complete a "EOY Technology and Software Evaluation" on the use and health of each software to consider for future use
- Will create minimal but effective training materials for scholars and parents to be fully equipped and supported with their tech use and needs
- Will work with the District and Nova as needed to ensure our school tech and software functions are consistent and in compliance
- High School Student ID Cards (get created and mail out); work with College Counselor or HS Dean as Needed

Qualifications:
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree or higher, 2 or more years in instructional design experience
Required Skills: Good communicator, good leadership skills, highly organized, independent and joyful problem-solver, team-player with Leadership Team and teachers, deep knowledge of our technology (PowerSchool, Canvas, and Outlook), understanding of online and classical education, enjoyment of and ability in software engagement, can create process and best practice documents to train teachers, proficient with technology (Zoom, video messaging and training, etc.), and can learn quickly and manage third-party vendor relationships

Additional Requirements:
Type of fingerprint clearance: Must possess or obtain valid Texas fingerprint clearance card.
Physical functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately.
Travel required: May need to travel locally to the various academies within the metro area.
