OBJECTIVE:
Maintains a safe and secure environment for guests and staff by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. This position interacts with all Casino Departments internally and Guests externally.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works inside and outside in all types of weather, extreme heat and cold, and temperature changes. Works in confined areas with extreme smoke and noise. Works where there are fumes and odors, dirt and dust.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Always be NICE to fellow staff and players; find every opportunity to offer a friendly smile, wave and greeting 
  2. Patrols and monitors internal and external areas to prevent fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass and reports any hazards that occur.
  3. Escorts staff to and from vault to provide security for Casino’s assets and personnel.
  4. Controls and directs traffic to maintain orderly entrance, parking, and exit.
  5. Responds to emergencies when they arise.
  6. Completes security logs and reports to record observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
  7. Complies with legal requirements to ensure Casino’s stability and reputation.
  8. Conducts fills and credits; table games and validators.
  9. Supports Tribal Enforcement and local law enforcement.
  10. Expels guests in an orderly fashion when necessary.
  11. Greets entering and exiting guests at the guardhouse.
  12. Prepares paper work for local law enforcement when necessary.
  13. Monitors money counts in the count room.
  14. Checks fire extinguishers.
  15. Participates in Safe Return program.
  16. Assists customers with vehicle problems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of proper operation and usage of two-way radios
Knowledge of laws governing security officers, arrest, gaming, and Casino’s procedures
Public contact and oral and written communication skills
Ability to walk or stand continuously for 2 or more hours
Ability to assess situations
Ability to work in smoke filled environment
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED
