OBJECTIVE: The Upholsterer will be responsible for repairing and restoring furniture and car seats, as well as creating custom upholstery pieces. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of fabrics and materials; and will be able to work independently and as part of a team.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Many of the job responsibilities will be conducted in exterior and interior areas of the operation. Exterior activities will be carried out in year-round weather conditions. Interior work will be conducted in on stage and back stage environments, including smoking areas. Work hours will fluctuate depending on projects, daily tasks and emergency situations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to communicate with supervisor/manager
Ability to follow directions
Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures
Experience in using a variety of tools and equipment used in the trade.
Ability to interpret, understand and perform tasks utilizing blue prints, schematics equipment manuals, etc.
Ability to make rational and effective decisions on the job
Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
Friendly and courteous personality
Able to work under minimal supervision
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Requires high school diploma or GED
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
At least 6 years of experience in the upholstery field
