OBJECTIVE:
Locksmith is responsible for the keying, maintenance and repair of lock systems and manages the key control program.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Many of the job responsibilities will be conducted in exterior and interior areas of the operation. Exterior activities will be carried out in year-round weather conditions. Interior work will be conducted on stage and back stage environments, including smoking areas. Work hours will fluctuate depending on projects, daily tasks and emergency situations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Always be NICE to fellow staff and players; find every opportunity to offer a friendly smile, wave and greeting
  2. Responsible for new lock system installations, repairs or replacement of broken locking devices and other door hardware and lubricates locks as required.
  3. Maintains key control systems including computer records, electronic key boxes, makes extra keys, recombinates locks and issues keys.
  4. Gains access to lockout spaces, offices, desks, files and lockers.
  5. Cleans and maintains equipment, tools and shop.
  6. Familiarity with safe and efficient use of a variety of locksmith machines and hand tools.
  7. Utilizes department apprentices to perform tasks and provide them guidance and training
  8. to further their knowledge in the trade.
  9. Understands and complies with federal, state and local regulations.
  10. Understands and complies with Facilities Department and Casino policies and procedures.
  11. Participates in training programs provided by the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to communicate with supervisor.
Ability to follow directions.
Familiar with a variety of locksmith concepts, practices and procedures.
Experience in using a variety of locksmith tools and equipment.
Ability to interpret, understand and perform tasks utilizing blueprints and manuals.
Ability to make rational and effective decisions on the job.
Ability to diagnose and resolve problems.
Proficient in locksmithing.
Bonded by the State of California.
Licensed by the state of California.
Friendly and courteous personality.
Able to work under minimal supervision.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED
Completed an apprenticeship and or formal training in lock-smith
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
At least 6 years of experience in lock-smith
