Pay Range: CLINICAL IMPROVEMENT SPECIALIST, RN - $49.90 to $79.84
Job Summary:
The Clinical Improvement Specialist is responsible for identifying areas of improvement and promoting change within the healthcare delivery system. Particular attention will focus on designing, implementing and evaluating processes within the clinical environment, distinguishing trends in documentation and practice deficiencies, developing nursing practice standards and maintaining compliance with regulatory mandates. Clinical Improvement Specialist acts as an advocate/liaison for the nursing profession by supportingandimplementing evidence-based and best practices to improve patient outcomes.

Current California RN Licensure
Current BLS Provider Certification
National Certification in specialized area of nursing as noted:
Emergency Department: PALS, ACLS, MAB/VIP, NIHSS
Intensive Care Department: CCRN, ACLS, NIHSS
Definitive Observation Unit: ACLS, PALS
Post Anesthesia Care Unit: ACLS, PALS
Center for Women and Newborns: ACLS, NRP, Advanced-Fetal Monitoring
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit: BLS, NRP
Medical/Surgical Unit: ACLS
Telemetry Unit: ACLS, NIHSS
Perioperative Room Unit: CNOR, PALS, ACLS
Education:
Bachelors degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or related
Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
Experience:
5 years direct patient care experience in area of specialty with an advanced knowledge of nursing practices.

Ability to interact with clients of diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
Ability to interact effectively with all staff members, including physicians, nurses, technicians, management assistants, managers and directors
Must demonstrate technical competence, professional clinical judgement, communication skills and sensitivity for the patient and family in crisis
Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
Must possess excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills
Must be creative, energetic and committed to excellence in education
Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
Capable of using EMR, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook computer skills for a variety of support functions
Frequent sitting and standing/walking with frequent position change.
Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.
Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.
Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing.
Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Continuous use of near vision, hearing and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co-workers and performing job duties.
