Position Summary: 

The Development Manager at Great Hearts Texas serves as a key resource and strategic leader of the Directors of Community Engagement & Academy Giving (DCEs) across all campuses. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Communications, this role oversees data management for fundraising and donor platforms, ensuring accurate reporting and alignment with Finance and Development teams according to the standard operating procedures. In maintaining the regional strategic development plan, the Development Manager mentors and functionally manages the DCE team, coordinating with Headmasters and other departmental support to build a culture of philanthropy, identify outreach opportunities, and execute network-level marketing initiatives. The position requires strong leadership, data management expertise, and the ability to drive strategic revenue growth and community engagement.

Responsibilities: 

Data Strategy & Management 

  • Maintain data integrity, security, and compliance across donor databases and giving platforms (e.g., Classy, Raiser’s Edge).

  • Coordinate with Finance and Development to ensure gift records align with donor intentions.

  • Analyze data to inform strategic decisions and identify fundraising opportunities.

 

Fundraising & Community Engagement 

  • Oversee campus-specific Community Investment campaigns and other revenue-generating initiatives.

  • Mentor and manage DCEs, providing training, professional development, and performance evaluations.

  • Partner with Headmasters to align DCE responsibilities with campus revenue demands and set performance benchmarks.

  • Lead regular meetings to unify fundraising and engagement strategies.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Enrollment teams to promote cohesive brand messaging.

  • Track fundraising metrics and enrollment trends to guide budgeting and strategy.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in nonprofit management, business, or related field preferred.

  • At least 5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or marketing; experience managing multi-site teams is a plus.

  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities

  • Proficiency in donor management systems, data analysis, and reporting.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a demonstrated commitment to the Great Hearts Texas mission and classical education approach.

  • CFRE or similar certifications are beneficial; Spanish proficiency is an asset.

 

Work Environment & Travel: 

  • Full-time on-site, in the GHTX office, or on-campus.

  • Some travel within Texas is required to support campus events and DCE collaboration.

  • Must pass a background check screening.

  • Occasional evening or weekend events may be required.
