POSITION: Dual Enrollment Teacher of Record 

DEPARTMENT: Home Office                      

LOCATION: Great Hearts Arizona or Great Hearts Nova                              

REPORTS TO: Sr Director Of Academics or Nova Executive Director, depending on location

Position Summary 

The Dual Enrollment Teacher of Record is responsible for overseeing courses for Dual Enrollment instruction.  These goals are accomplished through establishing learning outcomes and in some cases, evaluating student work that serves Great Hearts and the Dual Enrollment courses.   

   

Duties & Responsibilities 

Programming: 

  • Responsible in a leadership role as the Dual Enrollment Teacher of Record for a specific subject/course of expertise in the Arizona region. 
  • Responsible for implementing curricular standards and learning outcomes of respective subject/course in conjunction with SEU and/or ACU within the GH curriculum model.
  • Work with Dual Enrollment teachers across all academies to ensure the instruction and assessment of the common assessments determined for the course. 

 

Collaboration: 

  • Responsible for collaborating with and assisting classroom teachers at other Arizona schools participating in the Dual Enrollment program. 
  • Manage online learning platforms and be available to students during regular office hours. 
  • Provide academic support to Dual Enrollment students, including tutoring, clarification of course content, and study strategies. 
  • May be asked to collaborate with program administrator/coordinator and college faculty to make any necessary improvements. 

 

Administrative: 

  • Engage in management tasks in support of the Dual Enrollment initiative in conjunction with SEU and/or ACU Learning Management systems, i.e. entering data into college IT platforms, grade submission, etc. 
  • Responsible for keeping the GH Arizona leadership informed and updated on all matters with the Dual Enrollment course work. 
  • Collect and provide feedback on the effectiveness of the Dual Enrollment program and course delivery. 

 

Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths 

 

Education:  

  • Master’s Degree in area assigned as Teacher of Record required.   
  • Responsible for submission of an official college transcript to SEU and/or ACU Dual Enrollment Admission Coordinators prior to start of semester. 

 

Experience: Minimum three (3) years occupational experience in the field/courses being taught. 

 

Special Skills:   

  • Superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills; oriented towards detail, thoroughness, and accuracy. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders. 
  • Achievement-oriented, with a great deal of stamina to work hard and take satisfaction from being productive. 
  • Strong analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills. 

Licenses or certifications 

Physical functions: Must be able to remain in a stationary (standing or sitting) position for 75%-100% of the time. 

Equipment used: Frequent computer use is expected, i.e. MS Word, Excel, and proprietary platforms. 

Work Environment: May be required to move or position equipment up to 10-15 pounds. 

 

Compensation 

Compensation will be distributed in the form of a stipend and will be calculated after the close of Dual Enrollment registrations for the semester and distributed during the following pay period. 

 

Must complete fingerprint clearance and background checks within Arizona and Texas, as applicable to the role. 

 

Physical functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 50 pounds approximately.
