Position Summary 

Assistant Athletic Directors (AD) will be responsible for all things related to Middle and High School Athletics. The Assistant AD will report to the Athletic Director and ultimately, the school Headmaster, and will be seen as another Athletics Administrator on campus, as well as overseeing all functions that an Athletic Director is responsible for particularly Middle School coach oversight and evaluation, scheduling, facility rentals oversight, student registrations, social media and communications, heading up Archway early release sports day, which will include appropriate staffing as well as communication with the Archway on pick up/drop off and registrations. The Assistant AD will be the main point of contact for the Great Hearts Middle School League (GHMSL), attending all meetings and voting on the behalf of their Academy, and making proposals to the league based on school needs.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Communications Internally and Externally, including campus community, faculty, and social media
  • Formal Seasonal Evaluations of Middle School coaches and assistant coaches
  • Hosting games on campus which includes but not limited to: 1. Confirming with AIA/GHMSL officials, 2. Connecting and communicating with the incoming school, 3. Setting of volunteers and game day personnel
  • Heading up registrations and clearance of the almost 300 seasonal student-athletes, while also being the main point of contact for questions from said registrations
  • Managing facility rentals for both on and off-campus facilities
  • GHMSL head of communication and operations
  • Head of early release Archway sports days (where applicable)

 

 

 

Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree or working towards encouraged, High School diploma

 

Certifications (if any required): First Aide/CPR Certified

 

Experience: Needs to have been involved in inter-scholastic athletes and have some knowledge of the workings of school athletics.

 

Special Skills: Needs to have excellent communication skills, flexible hours

 

Additional Requirements

 

Type of fingerprint clearance: Must possess or obtain valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP fingerprint clearance card.

 

Physical functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 25 pounds approximately.

 

Travel required: May need to travel locally to the various academies within the Phoenix metro area.
