JOB SPECIFICATION
POSITION: Financial Analyst II
DEPARTMENT: Finance
LOCATION: 48th Street & Washington or Remote
REPORTS TO: Director of Finance
FLSA STATUS: Exempt, Full-time ($55,000-$90,000; DOE)
Position Summary
The Financial Analyst II supports financial decision-making by collecting, analyzing, investigating and reporting financial data. Performs moderate to challenging financial and operational analysis to support short-term and long-range strategic plans, forecasting and operating budgets.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with all departments to provide Academy or Home Office forecasts and annual budgets, modeling, and long-range plans
- Prepare monthly financial statements
- Review financial information, provide monthly reports and access budget vs. actual performance with Headmasters or Home Office department leadership
- Review balance sheet reconciliations monthly
- Provide additional support for Accounting team
- Analyzes financial results
- Ensure compliance with budget allocations
- Prepare Board reports quarterly
- Work with IT and facilities to coordinate projects at the Academies or Home Office
- Oversee the completion of projects or assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc.
- Create and document any needed Policies and Procedures and ensure compliance
- Identify and communicate any internal control issues
- Other duties as needed.
Qualifications, Competencies, and Strengths
Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field at minimum.
Experience: 5-7+ years of accounting/finance work experience. Experience in education and MBA preferred.

- Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge or other financial systems

- Ability to develop positive and professional relationships with team members.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Blackbaud Financial Edge system experience a plus
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Additional Requirements
Type of fingerprint clearance: Must possess or obtain valid Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card.
Physical functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately.
Travel required: Will need to travel locally to the various academies within the Phoenix metro area.
