Compensation:  Based on experience

 

 

DEFINITION:

The Hospice Chaplain provides spiritual and emotional support when needed to the Hospice patient/family and to members of the Hospice team. The Hospice Chaplain provides assistance at the time of the patient’s death and support of the family during the bereavement period. 

 

EDUCATION:

Masters of Divinity degree from an accredited theological seminary or equivalent.  Ordained by a religious body and endorsed by proper ecclesiastical authority.  Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education from an accredited ACPE Training Center or equivalent training and experience.

 

  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Clinical Pastoral Education from an accredited ACPE Training Center or equivalent training and experience. 

Board Certification with the Association of Professional Chaplains or another national certifying commission for competency preferred or board certified eligible.

Minimum of 2 years experience as a chaplain/spiritual counselor preferably in a Hospice or health care setting.
