Where would you step in? 
As the lead Senior Wetland Scientist, you will join the Wetlands and Ecological Services Group and will work with an experienced team of project managers, scientists, and engineers throughout our Environment Business Line. You can sit in our Portsmouth, New Hampshire or Portland, Maine office in a hybrid field/home/in-person model.   

Our Environment Team and Projects 
Our Environment group is nearly 100 strong throughout our Northeast offices. The work we do covers site assessment, remediation, wetland science, regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, and other ways we can support client work with state and local governments, utilities, private clients, industry, colleges, and hospitals. 

What will you be doing? 
As the Senior Wetland Scientist, you will be doing a mixture of report preparation, permit application preparation, mentoring, business development and client contact. You’ll be involved in wetland restoration, and mitigation design; freshwater and coastal wetland permitting; resource assessment for coastal and inland systems; public hearing presentations; and business development and proposal support.  

What do you need? 
For the Senior Wetland Scientist role, you will need need a BS or MS in a natural sciences field, environmental law, planning, or something similar. You will need to have demonstrated ability in the field data collection and analysis, and technical writing skills. As the Senior Wetland Scientist, you will need to have applied knowledge of New Hampshire, Maine, and federal wetland regulatory programs, both inland and coastal wetland permitting, and experience presenting projects to municipal boards. We would prefer that you have prior consulting and client management experience and if you had certifications such as NH Certified Soil Scientist, NH Certified Wetland Scientist (CWS), Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS), Certified Wildlife Biologist (CWB), Certified Erosion, Sediment, & Storm Water Inspector (CESSWI), Qualified Compliance Inspector of Stormwater (QCIS), or similar it would be great!

The salaries are determined based on internal equity and market analysis and will vary based on the candidate’s skill and experience; the salary range for this position is $85,000 - $132,000.
