NaphCare is hiring strong Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), or Paramedics to join our team with the Pima County Jail located in Tucson, AZ.  

Full-time, Part-time, PRN shifts and 8-13 week temporary contracts are available!  Pay rates based on shift, site needs, certification level, experience, and whether you're an Advanced EMT or an EMT.  Shifts and hours vary based on coverage needs can be discussed upon interview.

NaphCare has a partnership with NetCE that provides CEU/CME for our staff. NetCE uses a rigorous peer review process to ensure that all activities and content are up-to-date. This service streamlines continuing education for all NaphCare Employees to meet state specific requirements for maintaining licensing.

Position Description for Paramedics and EMT’s:

  • Respond to medical emergencies within the prison facility and provide immediate medical care to patients
  • Conduct thorough medical assessments and triage patients based on their medical needs
  • Administer medication and treatments within your scope of practice.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
  • Document all medical interventions and patient care in an electronic medical record. (EMR)
  • Work collaboratively on a team with other medical professionals and custodial staff.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Follow all state and federal regulations and guidelines related to medical care within a correctional facility
  • Attend and participate in all required training and continuing education programs
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and enhance overall medical care within the facility.

Position Requirements for Paramedics and EMT’s

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current AZ State certification as a Paramedic or EMT. (NREMT recommended)
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Paramedic / EMT, preferably in a correctional or similar healthcare setting, but is not required.
  • Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure
  • Strong written, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a high-stress environment
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
