Morrison Foerster LLP, an Am Law 50 law firm with 18 offices worldwide, has an opening for a Billings & Collections Coordinator within our Financial Operations department in our London office.

The Opportunity 

It's an exciting time to join MoFo's fast-paced Financial Operations team!

  • Produce and distribute monthly WIP & AR report to assigned London Partners.
  • Distribute monthly prebills.
  • Review and process billing documentation according to attorney instructions and department procedures.
  • Apply established and developed knowledge of UK Customs & Excise Invoice regulations, Solicitors’ Accounts Rules (SAR) and VAT regulations.
  • Review prebilling documents for special billing arrangements and obtain necessary documentation if arrangements are not reflected on prebill; ensure effective and detailed information flow within department and internal clients.
  • Review rates, addresses, billing currency and other components of prebills for accuracy to avoid later corrections.
  • Review final bills to ensure data integrity.
  • Proactively manage e-billing submissions including new timekeepers, rejections, reductions, delayed payments.
  • Prepare, submit and track e-billing progression via various e-billing systems.
  • Proactively manage and follow up on aged A/R.
  • Responsible for collection activity for assigned Billing Attorneys and provide support on other collection items as required. 

Ideal Candidate       

  • Minimum two years of law firm billing experience, preferably in a large law firm.
  • Strong technology skills in MS Office products such as Word and Excel.
  • Experience using 3E desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels within and outside the firm.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment demonstrating reliability, dependability and flexibility is essential.
  • Excellent organizational, process, and follow-through skills.  Ability to prepare accurate, highly detailed work product.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and work independently.  Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership of work responsibilities and resolving issues proactively.
  • Ability to anticipate issues, assess information, and provide responsive solutions.
  • High client service ethic and a proven record in delivering exemplary client satisfaction to external and internal clients.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines.
