The Opportunity
It's an exciting time to join MoFo's premier Appellate practice as a Paralegal!
Assist with preparing and filing briefs and appendices before the Supreme Court of the United States and various federal and state appellate courts.
Review trial court files and prepare index of documents and materials that constitute the record on appeal.
Cite-check all authorities cited in appellate briefs.
Maintain calendar of deadlines for all live appeals.
Draft preliminary appellate case opening filings, non-substantive motions, certificates of service and compliance.
Assist with data collection and data visualization efforts for both appellate blogs.
Arrange for visual aids, models, or other record documents for use in oral argument.
Develop and maintain reference library for administrative information and court rules.
Ideal Candidate
Bachelor's degree from a competitive school with an overall GPA of 3.50 or higher required.
Ability to commit to 2+ years in the role before pursing law school or other ventures.
Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines under direct supervision.
Strong sense of accountability and taking ownership over projects.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing work product.
Ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects; flexibility in shifting focus.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet business and client needs required.

Where required by law, salary ranges are stated below. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime as applicable, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following: local market data and ranges; an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience; and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications.
D.C. salary range: $42K to $62K
