At JTV the bench jeweler needs to be capable of producing quality jewelry repairs in a timely manner. The position requires that one is skilled in a variety of different jewelry related tasks including stone setting techniques, ring sizing’s, chain repair, re-tipping and rebuilding of prongs, etc. A bench jeweler will be required to fill the needs of other departments within our company. Our jewelers need to be proficient in inspecting gemstones, polishing and plating a variety of precious metals. He or she needs to have the ability to communicate well with other co-workers as well as management. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team is a must for this position.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Ability to conduct jewelry repairs such as: setting stones, reworking prongs, ring sizing and electroplating;
Support JTV’s GemStore needs such as: inspecting jewelry pieces, special projects and, polishing jewelry;
Assist in processing melt and stone sorting;
Assist in maintaining a clean/organized shop area.
Experience and Skills
Must be skilled in all areas of jewelry repair and stone setting;
Ability to communicate and work well with others;
Ability to Multi-Task.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
