Title: Mortgage Operations Specialist 

Location: Sioux Falls, SD (This is an on-site position)

Builder Finance Inc. (BFI) is the growing lender to home building companies and rental home investment companies across the country. BFI is in process of launching a new lending product. This hire will play an instrumental role in that launch and the ongoing success of the product. As part of a small team within BFI, the successful candidate will take ownership of two main areas:

Closing. After a loan receives internal approval and the Loan Officer conveys that approval to the client, take responsibility.

  • Rate lock the loan.
  • Prepare and/or review closing legal documentation and the settlement statement.
  • Have escrow accounts properly setup.
  • Ensure collection of all items required to close the loan and to later sell the loan.
  • Manage the title and title insurance process.
  • Coordinate loan closing and disbursement of funds.

Post-Closing. Work with the loan buyer and internal finance personnel to effectuate sale of the loan.

  • Prepare loan files for sale. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring that lending instruments were properly recorded and filed.
  • Effectuate sale of loan.
  • Work with finance team to ensure proper settlement and accounting.

The responsibility and compensation are compelling, especially for a successful candidate currently performing a comparable role. This position is in office; remote work is not offered but potentially for limited periods of harsh weather. No travel is expected for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Education: If most recent degree was obtained less than 5 years ago please include cumulative GPA and transcript.  
  • Experience: Prefer at least 3 years of relevant experience.
