Job Summary:

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) provide basic nursing care and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direct supervision of a RN, performs unit clerk/administrative duties for the unit, participates in other hospital committees and teams as appropriate and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications for the Job:

  • Education: Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.
  • License: Current State of Alaska Certified Nursing Assistant license.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS). Completion and certification by Bartlett’s approved Behavioral Health Physical Intervention and Verbal De-escalation training program within ninety (90) days of hire.
  • Experience:
    • CNA I ($21.21 - $24.96/hour): No prior experience required. CNA I’s are required  to complete initial advanced skills training checklists  and advance to CNA II level within 6 months.
    • CNA II ($24.90 - $29.29/hour): Master entry level CNA I skills and duties and complete initial advanced skills training checklist within 6 months of hire.  CNA II must maintain quarterly skills training checklists and competencies.

Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.

  • All new employees are required to produce a negative drug screen prior to start of employment.
