Bartlett Regional Hospital is searching for an experienced professional to join our team as a Cook I on our dietary team! Successful candidates will fill positions in either Bartlett Regional Hospital or Wildflower Court.

Job Summary:

The Cook I works as an essential team member of the Food Services department preparing high quality hot and cold food items for inpatients requiring therapeutic diets, cafeteria customers, and catering functions. High standards of food safety and sanitation and provision of excellent customer service are maintained at all times.

Minimum Qualifications for the Job:

  • Education:  High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Experience:  One (1) year of experience as a Cook or one (1) year of experience as an FSA II at Bartlett which includes assisting Cooks and acquiring Cook level skills. Experience in an institutional setting preferred.

  • Licenses/Certifications:  Must obtain an Alaska Food Worker Card or ServSafe certification within 60 days of hire.

  • Other:  Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Knowledge of large quantity food preparation.

  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language to interpret documents such as recipes, menus, meal tickets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and logs, and procedure manuals.

Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
