Position:             2026 2L Summer Associate

Morrison Foerster (“MoFo”) is seeking talented, ambitious second-year law students who value collaboration, teamwork, and commitment to excellence to join our 2026 Summer Associate Program in our Tokyo office.

MoFo summer associates are entrusted with responsibilities and tasks typically assigned to junior associates. They include:

• Writing legal documents such as briefs, motions, contracts, and client memoranda;
• Assisting in drafting and negotiation sessions;
• Participating in depositions and witness preparation; and
• Performing due diligence in corporate transactions.

Summer associates will work directly with our seasoned lawyers (including both U.S. and Japan-licensed attorneys) on substantive client matters, receive unparalleled mentorship, get comprehensive practice and professional skills training, and experience MoFo’s shared values, inclusive community, and diverse practice areas firsthand.

Who You Are

• Currently enrolled and in good standing in a full-time J.D. program at an ABA-accredited law school.
• Have a serious interest in living and working in Japan.

Although we generally seek candidates who are proficient in Japanese, it is not mandatory that you have the language proficiency to be considered for the Tokyo office.
