ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Business Development & Marketing Manager at Morrison Foerster, you will be responsible for driving business growth and marketing strategies for our Singapore and Asia offices. With a solid background in business development and digital marketing, you will work closely with our Singapore lawyers, and our Asia and global business development teams to develop and execute a comprehensive business development and marketing strategy to enhance the firm’s brand presence, generate new leads and strengthen client relationships.

Business Development & Marketing Planning and Execution

  • Develop and execute business development & marketing plans for the Singapore partners and relevant practices in the region, aligning with the firm’s Asia growth objectives.

  • Work closely with global business development teams to ensure local business development plans support the firm’s positioning in key sectors and target markets: and with the Asia BD & Marketing teams to ensure alignment on and efficient delivery of regional initiatives.

  • Develop proactive responses to advance our business development efforts and continuously optimize all business development and Thought Leadership campaigns for better results.

  • Track the results of marketing and business development efforts and prepare responsive reports and analysis incorporating strategies for increasing effectiveness.

Driving demand/revenue growth

  • Best-in-class marketing materials: Produce compelling materials including marketing brochures, practice group descriptions, attorney bios, customized content for presentations (internal and external), website copy, PR opportunities and content for the firm’s social media channels.

  • Pitching and RFPs: Responsible for preparing pitches and RFPs, including undertaking research, coordinating collateral, assembling materials and project managing the pitch process. Proactively suggest innovative ways of pitching and track results, ensuring our efforts are being monitored and reported on.

  • Event management: Plan, develop and execute all Singapore based sponsored and MoFo-hosted client-focused events to enhance visibility in the market and advance business development goals.

  • PR: Collaborate with our PR and Communications teams to deliver meaningful Thought Leadership campaigns, focused on the integrated delivery of client alerts, press releases, Op Eds, events, filming, and social media elements. Ensure all comms/PR activities have strong ROI and follow global best practice.

  • Directory and awards submissions: Responsible for managing the Singapore submissions process, working closely with Asia BD colleagues and with support from the global Awards and Rankings team.

Asia Digital Marketing Strategy Management

  • This role works closely with the firm’s global Marketing Technology and Digital teams to support the wider Asia business development team to optimize the firm’s digital presence in Asia, including posting and uploading content on the website, social media platforms, and across email marketing campaigns.

  • Manage the Asia digital content calendar to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality digital/social media materials aligned with the firm's broader digital marketing strategy.

  • Responsible for publishing select content to MoFo’s website properties. This includes updating existing bios or publishing client alerts or articles.

  • Identify key opportunities for digital marketing campaigns that target clients and prospects.

  • Produce compelling digital content (articles, thought leadership pieces, case studies, blogs etc.) to promote our Asia-wide offering.

Key Client Relationship Management

  • Collaborate with partners to support them in developing strong relationships with clients across the region.

  • Support cross-selling efforts, client relationship meetings and trips and prepare compelling supporting documents to highlight MoFo’s strengths and experience.

  • Proactively organize and attend events to create opportunities for our lawyers to network with clients.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.

  • A degree or professional certification in Digital Marketing is a plus.

  • Minimum of 6+ years of business development experience, preferably within the legal or professional services sectors.

  • Experience in supporting a wide range of legal practice areas including Corporate/M&A, Private Equity, Technology Transactions, Real Estate, Venture Capital, Finance, Project Finance, Investment Funds, Corporate Investigations and Anti- Corruption, and Litigation.

  • Experience of working in Singapore or other Asia markets highly beneficial.

  • Experience in developing and executing successful digital marketing campaigns.

  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools, platforms, and strategies, including SEO, SEM, social media, and email marketing.

  • 1-2 years previous experience with website content management systems, including updating existing content and publishing new content to our centralized CMS.

  • Knowledge and experience of Salesforce highly beneficial.

  • Knowledge and experience with Marketing Cloud or other email marketing and campaign systems highly beneficial

  • An ambitious go-getter who also understands the value of working as a team and contributing to a collaborative environment. Confident and capable to work independently.

  • Excellent project management skills and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills, with a keen understanding of how to tailor content for diverse Asian markets.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze and interpret data to inform decision-making.

  • Attention to detail in all areas including writing, copy editing, researching, and managing data.

  • Flexibility and willingness to work the hours needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

  • Proficiency in English is required.

  • Fluency in other Asian languages (e.g., Mandarin, or Japanese) is beneficial.
