What does the Account Manager do?
An Account Manager is the growth engine of the Experitec ‘No Equal’ Team. Our Account Managers act as the voice of our customers and work to improve the customers’ businesses by applying Emerson / Experitec solutions and services. Our customers are largely manufacturing facilities in the power, pulp and paper, chemical, gas distribution, oil and gas, and food and beverage industries.
Account Managers are expected to grow profit and revenues in their book of business by leveraging the multitude of resources available to them including specialized Emerson / Experitec sales personnel, best-in-class products, and acquisition content.
This position is part of our Outside Sales team with the specific title of Account Manager.
This position involves being on the road visiting customer sites three days a week. The ability to work at home or in the office is required for Mondays & Fridays. Overnight stays are estimated at 2-3 nights a week, depending on the location of residence and distance to customers.

Required Skills, Experience & Abilities:
Associate degree OR high school diploma with two or more years of relevant work experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three or more years of professional outside sales work experience.
One or more years of experience utilizing CRM to build and maintain a strong sales funnel.
Excellent timely and effective communication (written and verbal) with both external customers and co-workers.
Ability to demonstrate personal accountability and excellent time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), Outlook email, and basic computer skills.
Ability to work on the road at customer sites three days per week and personal home office Monday and Friday from 8am-5pm and to occasionally work additional hours upon request. Flexibility to travel with occasional overnight stays and with little notice to meet customer needs.
Ability to drive for the company with a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass driving record background check and DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency) background check.
Ability to obtain TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card.
Ability to utilize personal vehicle for the majority of work travel AND ability to rent a car when requested for work travel.
Ability to travel nationwide by plane and locally up to 10-15% for professional development and training.
Ability to work in manufacturing and data center environments with shifting and extreme temperatures, varying work heights and varying noise levels.
Ability to wear PPE as appropriate for potential environmental hazards.
Ability to lift and move up to 30lbs.
Preferred Skills, Experience & Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree.
Bachelor’s degree in STEM.
Five or more years of professional outside sales work experience.
Five or more years in similar related sales, manufacturing and/or industrial industry.
Two or more years using CRM to build and maintain a strong sales funnel.
Strong working knowledge of Emerson products and capabilities.
Experience in customer account management; growing revenues and profits.
Proficient in forecasting and crafting/executing a business plan.
