Job Summary:

This position is a licensed and performs their primary duties independently and under general direction of the Mental Health Unit Director. Primary duties include:

  • Providing individual, family, conjoint, group behavioral health therapy services in an inpatient or outpatient setting.

  • Conducting individual assessments, including diagnosis, individualized treatment planning, and referrals throughout the service continuum as appropriate.

  • Providing family counseling as assigned.

  • Working cooperatively to provide evidenced based practice and utilize standards developed in conjunction with the Core BOPS Psychiatric team which will include an assigned psychiatrist, mid-level providers, and other therapists.

 

Minimum Qualifications for the Job:

  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience as a behavioral health counselor.

  • Certification(s): 

    • Workplace Violence Prevention Training within 90 days of hire

    • CPI's Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training within 90 days of hire

    • RQI BLS

  • License(s): Current State of Alaska Master’s Degree license such as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT that meets third party reimbursement requirements.

     

Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms. 

External Hires: This position starts at $38.69 per hour.  Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based upon relevant experience.
