High School Program

The ICS High School program offers multiple pathways to graduation designed to meet the diverse interests and needs of our learners. As an MSA-accredited institution offering the IB Diploma Programme (DP), Career-related Programme (CP), and Middle Years Programme (MYP), we provide globally recognized credentials that open doors for our internationally mobile students.

Our high school serves approximately 290 students across grades 9-12. Our multicultural student body engages in inquiry-based learning experiences structured around the cycle of inquiry, action, and reflection. The ICS Way—our commitment to being internationally minded while caring for ourselves, each other, and our community—guides everything we do.

A Collaborative and Progressive Learning Environment: Recognized as Highly Effective and Learning Progressive, our program emphasizes collaboration, personalization, and social-emotional learning. Each student is supported by a dedicated core teaching team that implements targeted interventions to ensure all learners achieve at high levels. Position Description: High School MYP / DP English Language and Literature | Grades 9-12

ICS Addis is recruiting an inspirational and experienced MYP / DP English Language and Literature teacher to join our high school team. The successful candidate will be a dynamic teacher and effective collaborator with colleagues, students, and parents. They will hold a degree and teaching certification in the field of English language instruction. Successful experience teaching a variety of English language courses and electives in a personalized learning environment focused on inquiry is essential. Demonstrated experience using MYP/DP and standards-based assessment practices is required for working with the student-centered pedagogy of ICS. A sound understanding and belief of professional learning communities is essential to collaborate in the high school division. In addition to the primary duty of teaching in the English department, the successful applicant will serve as a class advisor and form part of a grade-level team that implements the social-emotional learning curriculum, as well as lead extracurricular activities. To be considered for this position, applicants must have at least a first degree and a valid teaching certificate with a minimum of 3 years of IB experience.
