Alumni Support Initiatives Coordinator

The mission of the West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is to “Serve West Point and the Long Gray Line”.  WPAOG is both the alumni association and foundation for the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point.  Our vision is to ensure the Long Gray Line remains the most highly connected alumni body in the world.   USMA is renowned as the world's preeminent leadership development institution.  The student body, or Corps of Cadets, numbers 4,400, and each year approximately 1,000 cadets graduate and are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army.

The WPAOG is seeking an Alumni Support Initiatives Coordinator for the Alumni Support Department. As part of the Alumni Support Team, this individual will provide assistance to the Director of Alumni Support Initiatives with the development and execution/administration of service initiatives for the Long Gray Line. These initiatives will have a special focus on information technology systems and front facing engagement with alumni and other constituencies. This position reports directly to the WPAOG Director of Alumni Support Initiatives.

The Coordinator is expected to be knowledgeable of USMA and WPAOG activities and programs, meet deadlines as required, have experience setting priorities and successfully managing multiple projects of varying complexity and urgency simultaneously, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The Coordinator will perform various administrative and technical tasks as needed to include (but not limited to): working with various WPAOG staff and assisting them with the administration of Alumni Support initiatives, providing reports to the Director regarding initiatives on a regular schedule, administering appropriate communications and marketing regarding initiatives, working with the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and similar organizations to promote WPAOG through researching awards and submitting award entries, and assisting the Alumni Support Director of Events with Conferences, Awards, and Summits.

A high school diploma is required, a Bachelor Degree is preferred. At least two years of demonstrated professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; customer service, marketing, or sales experience; and familiarity with military culture are preferred. Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SaaS applications, ability to multitask, and attention to detail are required. Must be a team player who enjoys engaging with and assisting others. Salary commensurate with skills and experience.
