Job Description: · Incumbent serves as a Subject Matter Expert supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division, Naval Architecture and Engineering Department, Code 80. · Under the direction of the Program Manager and Senior Engineering Manager, provide expertise in the conduct of: • Installing firefighting systems and equipment, shipboard damage control practice, ventilation, fundamentals of ship stability, fire main and drainage, communication, emergency breathing apparatus, de-smoking, and gas analyzing systems. • Providing damage control training. • Evaluating damage control procedures and performance. • Utilizing Total Ship Survivability Trials (TSSTs) to evaluate ship design for recoverability based on simulated weapons damage assuming a fully trained crew. • Utilizing Vulnerability Assessment Reports (VAR) and Survivability Assessment Reports (SAR) to evaluating ship survivability against enemy threats. • Utilizing Modeling and Simulation (M&S) in conjunction with surrogate threats; and • Working with Damage Scenario-Based Engineering Analysis (DSBEA) including Required Skills and Experiences:
