Material Assessment Team (MAT) Leader

Bremerton, WA

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site/off-site Material Assessment Team (MAT) Leader support to the Type Commander (TYCOM). When the MAT is not actively planning, accomplishing, or completing required assessment reports, the MAT will serve as: (1) the Ship’s Force Resources (SFR) KSN Assistant Process Manager (APS), and (2) the SFR KSN KM Support Staff and the PPM KSN KM Support Staff.
  • Coordinate with CNAL/CNAP N43 and N9 to conduct all SFR KSN Assessments (A-6, A-2, A-1.5, and Mid-Assessment) per COMNAVAIRFORINST 4700.2 DOD Instruction 2.2).  Plan, conduct, document, and distribute results of mandated assessments to N43. (CDRL A003)
  • Brief COMNAVAIRFORINST 4700.2 assessment results to the Ship leadership, Project Team leadership, TYCOM staff; Maintenance Program Manager (MPMs), Maintenance Supervisor/N43/N9), and all KSN Process Masters, and Working Group Leads, as required, to coordinate resolutions and/or resolve process issues found during these assessments.
  • Support CNAL/CNAP N43 staffs, Project Teams, and Ship’s Force in the execution of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4700.2. Ensure ships are fully prepared to transition from operations into maintenance and back to operations.
  • Be an active member of the SFR and PPM KSNs. This includes addressing recurring deficiencies from assessments and remaining focused on resolving Ship’s Force related issues or problems.
  • Attend Post Availability Hot Washes, Process Master Meetings, CT1 Annual meetings, ESC Meetings, and participate in routine Process Master teleconferences as requested.
  • Serve as a member of the Knowledge Management Community of Practice.
  • Travel is required for a total of up to 16 trips outside of the assigned work location (approximately 5 to be meetings in assigned work location) per year to include:
    • Coordinate with CNAL/CNAP N43 and N9 to conduct all SFR KSN Assessments (A-6, A-2, A-1.5, and Mid-Assessment). Plan, conduct, document, and distribute results of mandated assessments to N43. (approximately 8 trips per year)
    • Attend and participate in the CT1 Annual Community Meeting and CT1 3LG as a participant and speaker if needed (2 trips per year)
    • Attend and participate in KSN F2Fs to include Ship’s Force Resources (SFR), Propulsion Plant Matters (PPM), and KMCoP (approximately 3 trips per year)
    • Attend as required by the CT1 Program Director events held at APQC (approximately 1 trip per year)
    • Attend Post Availability Hot Washes. (approximately 5 trips per year)
    • Project Team Leadership (PTL)

 

Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen with a Secret Security Clearance
  •  Bachelor's degree in any discipline and 5 years professional experience in directly involved in the planning and execution of CVN availabilities from a ship's force perspective and from performing shipboard assessments. –OR- associate degree in any discipline and 10 years professional experience in directly involved in the planning and execution of CVN availabilities from a ship's force perspective
  • With a bachelor’s degree in any discipline, 5 years professional experience in directly involved in the planning and execution of CVN availabilities from a ship's force perspective and from performing shipboard assessments. –OR- With an associate degree in any discipline, 10 years professional experience in directly involved in the planning and execution of CVN availabilities from a ship's force perspective
