Job Description: 

We are seeking an American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to support Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in meeting their mission requirements. Services will be rendered in a highly technical environment as part of a contract team supporting NAVSEA at the Washington Navy Yard.

Responsibilities include:

·         Provide quality ASL-spoken English interpretation in a timely manner. 

·         Support managing the ASL interpreting schedule and reports to various customers. 

·         Mentor and review work of novice interpreters 

·         Maintain adherence to the RID Code of Professional Conduct. 

Here's what you need:

·         RID Certified interpreter.

·         5+ years’ experience as a currently RID Certified interpreter working in a fast paced and technical settings

·         Strong voicing skills

·         Experience with solving difficult, complex ethical problems involving consideration of multiple issues and job areas

Bonus points if you have:

·         MA/MS Degree in ASL Interpretation

·         5+ years of working in a Business/Government setting with highly complex technical jargon

Security Clearance:

·         Active Secret Clearance

Education:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in ASL Interpretation or equivalent experience

·         Hybrid
