Job Description: (Brief Summary/Statement)

Research Analyst III

Job Responsibilities:

Supports Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC) N89 (Concepts, Technology, and Integration Branch) providing research as well as support of experimentation efforts. 

Researches existing emerging technologies for potential solutions to existing capability gaps, as well as researching previous experimentation results, doctrine and CONOPS to develop literature reviews.  Supports experimentation efforts by contributing to data collection and assessment plans as well as the development of experiment plans.

Maintains online database of statements of need and top level requirement submissions for the Navy Expeditionary Combat Force (NECF).

·        Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and independently performs a wide variety of complicated tasks.

·        May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist.

·        Provide analysis by collecting data to evaluate operational difficulties and make recommendations to solve problems.

·        Follows established modeling and evaluation processes to determine effectiveness of current operational capabilities and determine problem areas and develop solutions.

 

Education/Skills/Qualifications:

·        Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline

·        12 years’ experience in Navy Expeditionary or DOD systems

·        High level of technical competence and analytical skill. Familiarity with Expeditionary Combat systems and in-depth understanding of the latest technical developments in the field.

·        Competent in the application of standard analytical techniques. Able to devise or modify processes to solve complex military problems considering defense systems capacity and limitations.  Understanding of research analysis techniques and ability to apply them.
