Kaiser Permanente/ The Southeast Permanente Medical Group has a current opening for a Business Consultant, Patient Access, who in partnership and collaboration with the CASE team and other key leaders, will provide business analysis, project management, metrics planning, and other necessary support for the successful launch of new initiatives as well as ongoing monitoring for the designated departments in general and designated initiatives and projects.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or relevant field

Preferred Education

  • Master’s Degree Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administrative or related
  • Project Management Certification is desired

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in project management and analytical skills
  • Experience in business case analysis and development
  • Ability to establish positive, professional relationships with senior leadership and management team members.
  • Familiarity with use and interpretation of quantitative reports and analysis
  • Analytical skills utilizing Microsoft Office applications or similar applications in order to analyze large volumes of information.
  • Proficient with the use of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as strategic and systems thinking capability.
  • 1-3 years of experience within the healthcare industry
  • Demonstrated success in ability to organize, deploy, and motivate diverse project teams

Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Under the direction of the Senior Director, Access & Experience, the role provides project management and support, working with physician partners to drive execution and project performance, assist with the development of work approaches/plans, , analysis plans, communication plans, and implementation plans Partner with physician leaders in researching, consulting, and project management support for various services initiatives.
  • Provides support and oversight to project managed in ensuring appropriate mechanisms and systems are in place to support providing hassle free access and ensuring the region is successful in meeting access targets. Projects where this role would provide support are inclusive of (but not limited to) Patient Access and experience.
  • Partners with regional and service area counterparts and health care teams to review and improve systems and processes to drive the regional access strategy by closely partnering with the CASE Team, Business Operations, and Clinician Leaders to ensure the work is supported, monitored, and evaluated on an ongoing basis.
  • Develops business cases for new projects, as needed, and present and defend the cases, as per the determined KPGA process.
  • Support the Physician Director for Access in assessment of departments able to recommend projects and improvement initiatives to the Manager, Director, and AMD to address issues and achieve documented outcomes.
  • Partners with TSPMG reporting resources to obtain needed initiative and project reports for physician level and leadership review.
  • Facilitate communication and problem resolution between interdisciplinary groups within the departments. Partners with physicians and administrators to ensure successful implementation of new projects and initiatives or improve operational efficiencies.
  • Supports senior leadership and clinical management teams to develop appropriate targets and monitors annual performance in conjunction with the goal setting process.
  • Provides project management skills and ability to drive planning of work scope, work approach, team structure, work plans, analysis plans, communication plans, and implementation plans
