Electric Engineering Intern (Temporary Part-Time)

Starting Salary:  $12-$15/hr.

Description:

The Electric Department is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student(s) in engineering/technology related fields for an engineering internship position.

Requirements:

  • Computer proficiency, ability to work independently, use sound judgement, pay close attention to detail, and communicate effectively.
  • Currently enrolled in a two or four year-degree program pursuing a degree in engineering or a related field.
  • A valid driver's license.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Assisting in designing and engineering projects for substation, electrical generation, Load Management, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems and control systems projects.
  • Assist in analyzing, administering, and engineering the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems.
  • Maintaining substation, electrical generation, data communications, and control systems drawings, prints and other support documents.
  • Providing technical support for substation, electrical generation, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems, control systems projects and daily facilities operations.
  • Assists in receiving, and verifying project materials for substation, electrical generation, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems and control systems projects.

It is expected position would fulfill approximately 20 hours per week with flexing scheduling available.
