WTP MAINTENANCE, INSTRUMENTATION AND ELECTRICAL TECH I                                                            Salary Range $50,752.00 - $78,665.60

WTP MAINTENANCE, INSTRUMENTATION AND ELECTRICAL TECH II                                                           Salary Range $54,787.20 - $84,884.80

WTP MAINTENANCE, INSTRUMENTATION AND ELECTRICAL TECH III                                                          Salary Range $59,155.20 - $91,665.60

Under general supervision of the WTP Maintenance IC & E Crew Leader, performs technical and specialized duties in the maintenance and repair of instrumentation, control and electrical systems, and associated equipment for the water and wastewater treatment plants and remote facilities i.e. wells, wholesale point of sales, etc. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for the accuracy, reliability, and performance of all SCADA (multiple platforms), electronic, and electrical systems.  This is accomplished by configuring, programming, calibrating and repairing level, flow, pressure, radar, and ultrasonic transmitters, programmable logic controllers, variable frequency and direct current drives, radio telemetry systems, leased and dial up lines, laboratory analysis systems (to include remote probes), gas monitors, remote sampling systems, setup and trouble shoot mag meters, chemical feed systems, motors, also maintains SCADA and HMI systems via associated software; and other related equipment, designs, builds installs or modifies new and existing electronic and SCADA equipment, plans and implements preventive maintenance programs, and the generation of  historical and related documentation.  Also will review, evaluate, and make recommendations on all proposed engineering specifications and drawings, budgets, and the purchasing of equipment.  Will also design, implement and maintain complete maintenance record systems; maintain electronic and electrical inventories; prepare program reports; maintains 24-hour emergency on-call status and participates in a rotating standby program.  Applications accepted until filled.

Hiring Range - Tech. I $50,752 - $64,708.80
Hiring Range - Tech. II $54,787.20 - $69,825.60
Hiring Range - Tech. III $59,155.20 - $75,420.80

PREFERRED: 

  • Possession of NC Limited/Unlimited Electrical Contractor License highly desirable. 

REQUIRED: 

  • AAS Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Industrial Systems or related field.
  • Experience:
    • Level I- over one year and up to three years in the industrial electrical/electronic trade.                         
    • Level II- over three years and up to five years in the industrial electrical/electronic trade. 
    • Level III - over five years and up to seven years in the industrial electrical/electronic trade.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Typical work schedule is four 10-hour shifts per week.

This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
