Our Dallas, TX office is looking for a Construction Quality Manager to be based in Boston, MA.

 

Position Summary:

The Quality Manager position is responsible for enhancing the Family of Companies’ ability to serve a client and all project stakeholders, with respect to quality.   In addition, the Quality Manager encourages a culture of quality, provides tools, performs site visits, coaches project teams, provides learning opportunities, and provides support to ensure that project teams have an increased ability to provide a positive client experience. 

 

Job Responsibilities:  

1.       Relationship Building/Collaboration:

·         Develops trust and confidence through support, open and frequent communication, understands client expectations, consistently meets commitments and expectations, provides follow-up, and seeks formal and informal feedback

·         Builds and maintains relationships with consultants, architects, engineers, owners, developers, manufacturers, and subcontractors

·         Provides support and acts as a resource for the project team to ensure that the expectations of the project, related to quality, are achieved 

 

2.        Manages Consultant Resources:

·         Develops and maintains relationships with third party consultants and assists project teams to identify the correct consultant to meet the needs of a particular project

·         Reviews consultant scope agreements to ensure the needs to the project are being met

·         Verifies that the project team is effectively utilizing the third party resource to ensure the best value is being obtained for the expense

 

3.       Training:

·         Works to obtain buy in, adherence and support of the Quality Program by clearly communicating expectations, properly outlining procedures, and provide coaching to outline the reason why quality is important

·         Consistently provides positive feedback to project teams and memorializes successes related to quality

·         Develops and conducts training and education opportunities for project teams on various topics. Training topics will include, but are not limited to: overall quality processes, project specific quality processes, construction related technical topics, quality technologies, etc.

·         Trainings may be on-the-job style or in a classroom setting 

·         In addition to training, provide regular follow-up and coaching to project teams to continue to develop their skills related to quality

·         Assists the Director of Quality to constantly seek out lessons learned topics, seek out the facts related to the issue, and communicate the issues and supporting facts company-wide

 

4.       Develops and Manages Quality Tools and Templates:

·         Responsible for updating and managing current Quality templates (i.e. pre-con meetings, trade inspections, cover up inspections, etc.)

·         Assists the Director of Quality in developing and implementing new templates and checklists (i.e. shop drawing review checklists, plan review checklists, inspection checklists, etc.) 

·         Constantly seeks feedback and works to streamline templates and checklists into the overall technology tools to improve consistency and efficiency

·         Coordinates, trains, and manages the use of Quality templates within applicable software systems

 

        5.    Conducts Jobsite Visits:

·         Regularly visits jobsites to encourage the culture of quality, assists teams in navigating quality related issues, provides feedback to team members regarding project specific quality items, and seeks feedback in order to continuously improve the overall program

 

            6.      Quality Planning:

·         Assists teams with developing a project specific quality management plan

·         Supports and follows up to ensure that project teams are following their project specific quality management plan

·         Integrates lessons learned into future project specific quality management plans

 

Job Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Construction Management, Engineering or related area
  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience
  • Must be able to read, understand, and apply construction documents and job specifications
  • Travel Required ( 50-60%)
  • Knowledge of technical aspects, administration, and management of all phases of construction project
  • Ability to develop and conduct effective training and related materials 
  • Ability to act as a coach and provide positive reinforcement to project teams 
  • Excellent communication skills: including technical writing and conducting meetings
  • Problem solving techniques and critical thinking skills
  • Highly organized and ability to multi-task 
  • Proficient using Viewpoint, SharePoint, MS Project, and MS Office products
  • Experience with Procore Construction Management Software
  • Required training within first 3 months of employment: First Aid CPR & AED, Construction OSHA 10- Hour, New- Hire Safety Orientation- Parts 1 and 2, Hazard Communication/ GHS and Accident Investigation & Reporting
