As the Senior Counsel, Client Solutions you will provide general legal advice and direction to various stakeholders, with an emphasis on supporting our insurance and wealth businesses. You will support a range of strategic projects, offer guidance and assistance to our compliance and privacy teams, and review, draft and negotiate contracts.

 

What you’re responsible for:

  • Providing legal advice and guidance on various issues related to all facets of our property and casualty (P&C), life, and wealth business, including providing legal support to a mutual fund dealer and counselling on emerging business models.

  • Negotiating, reviewing and drafting contracts (such as distribution, reinsurance and networking agreements), insurance policies and internal guidelines.

  • Cultivating and maintaining effective relationships with key legal and business personnel.

  • Representing the organization in industry groups and committees, pro-actively identifying and actioning process improvements, and keeping current on legislation and legal developments.

To join our team:

  • You have 10 years of broad and progressive legal and/or regulatory experience in a corporate commercial, insurance, securities or banking environment.

  • You have a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree and are licensed to practice law in a Canadian province or territory.
