Job Title: MANAGER, DONOR COMMUNICATIONS AND ENGAGEMENT

JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager of Donor Communications and Engagement plays a key role in connecting major donors to CARE’s work around the world. This role collaborates across CARE to source, communicate, and design meaningful content, events, and engagement opportunities that educate and inspire CARE’s most significant supporters. Working closely with fundraising leadership, the Manager will play a central role in deepening connections with major donors by bringing the work of CARE to life in new and creative ways.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Donor Communications
Source the best of CARE’s work to share with a high-net-worth audience and craft compelling stories, visuals, and content.
Create engaging and creative donor communications, report summaries, invitations, and updates.
Help tell the story of how donors make an impact in a variety of formats to speak to different audiences.
Manage the annual calendar of communications and stewardship for major donors and prospects.
Coordinate the team’s fundraising efforts including campaigns, emergency appeals, and timely updates.
Monitor global events and humanitarian issues, identifying relevant articles and educational and advocacy opportunities to engage our donor community.
Team Collaboration and Support
Partner with teams across CARE (Marketing, Events, Office of the President, Programs, etc.) to identify opportunities for building relationships with key donors, advisors, and investors.
Collaborate with the Marketing team on communications during CARE events, donor travel, and other meetings.
Collaborate with the Grants Management and Resource Development Content teams to provide timely and compelling impact reports.
Serve as the primary point of contact for fundraisers seeking collateral, impact reports, and other resources.
Support special projects and perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in donor engagement/strategic communications.
Exceptional writing and editing skills.
A creative thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent diplomacy and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams with patience, enthusiasm, and confidence.
Interest in international issues, global development, or foreign affairs.
Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to interact effectively with senior leaders and staff at all levels of the organization.
Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and family philanthropists is preferred
