Pay Range Details
$81,083.95 - $113,112.11 Annually
USA Grade F

JOB SUMMARY:

CARE is hiring an experienced compliance professional to support CARE's global compliance framework. As a Legal Compliance Specialist, you will work in the Legal Department and contribute to CARE's mission by promoting a strong culture of integrity and compliance that is essential for our work around the world. You will partner with Legal colleagues and employees throughout CARE to support CARE’s enterprise-wide compliance systems, including the global policy library, ethics reporting hotline, and risk management program. You will also work directly with colleagues across CARE’s country offices to advise on compliance topics and develop compliance procedures, tools, and training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Compliance Support

  • Support the policy governance structure, including maintaining the global policy library, developing resources for policy owners, and communicating key policy updates. 
  • Facilitate the policy development process and support functional units in the drafting and maintenance of global compliance policies. 
  • Develop compliance materials and tools related to sanctions, restricted party screening, export controls, and related international trade topics. 
  • Assist in drafting and preparation of export license applications, maintain licensing records, support compliance with license requirements. 
  • Manage compliance projects and initiatives and apply project management best practices to plan, execute, monitor, and maintain compliance projects.  
  • Promote continuous and risk-based improvements to CARE’s global compliance framework, considering compliance trends, regulatory and legal developments, and industry practices.  

Ethics and Risk Management

  • Manage and administer CARE's global reporting hotline, including support to CARE investigation teams on system updates, analytics and reporting, and delivering user training. 
  • Support CARE's enterprise risk management program by partnering with functional leaders to track and report on enterprise risks and mitigation measures.

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Administrative support to the Legal Department  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 5+ years of experience as a compliance professional 
  • Prior experience developing, implementing and overseeing compliance programs. 
  • Self-starter and quick learner with demonstrated ability and strong desire to develop expertise in compliance areas and grow professionally.
  • Effective communication skills, including clear and concise writing skills. 
  • Strong responsiveness, time management, and organizational skills; ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines and maintain flexibility in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate, inspire trust, and work independently with stakeholders.
  • Experience working in international and/or cross-cultural settings.
