JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Development plans, directs, and coordinates fundraising activities for major and planned giving prospects and donors focused on the East Coast of the United States, with a particular focus on the Boston and Washington DC markets.
A member of a national Individual Giving team, the Director is part of a national major gift strategy group and will be based in New England or the DMV area, reporting directly to a Senior Director of Development. Additionally, the Director and their supervisor will partner closely with the Executive Director who manages the East Coast team.
The Director works with individual high-net-worth donors and family/private foundations to secure funding for CARE’s mission through unrestricted/flexible funding, restricted/designated gifts focused on CARE’s core programs, planned gifts, and support all campaigns. This role will focus on current donors and be expected to work with prospects and secure new donors. The Director will develop and implement cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for his/her portfolio of donors/prospects.
The Director is expected to maintain an active schedule of personal visits with donors and initiate one on one engagement and solicitation opportunities with donors and new prospects.
