Job Summary

Under direct supervision, this is an opportunity to learn Heavy Civil construction Engineer responsibilities that are in alignment with Graniterock’s Strategic Priorities and business objectives.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  1. Comply, understand, and promote corporate and division safety initiatives to ensure “Safety before All Else.”
  2. Work with Foremen and Superintendent to learn about field construction operations and to provide support.
  3. Maintain progress reports and spreadsheets for construction projects to be presented to supervisor.
  4. Assist in performing financial tasks such as completing invoicing, tracking project costs, pay estimates and financial analyses.
  5. Coordinate job essential data including quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man hour, and equipment to ensure accurate estimates and bids.

Education and Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferably a current Civil Engineering or Construction Management Student.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Possess a strong desire to work on a team, solve problems and grow professionally.
  • Knowledge of HCSS, HeavyJob and Bluebeam are helpful.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Word and Excel.

OTHER COMMENTS: Positions require a valid CA Driver’s License and clean driving record. Positions available in San Jose, Watsonville and Concord.

Hiring Pay

Salary will be determined based on the individual’s knowledge, skills and experience. Ranges are aligned with market data and/or collective bargaining agreement rates.
