Our Chattanooga, TN office is looking for an Accounting Analyst.  Candidates must be local to Chattanooga, TN.

Position Summary:

The Accounting Analyst position performs complex accounting and financial tasks. The Accounting Analyst position oversees the reporting and month end closing functions for one or more of EMJ’s regional offices, subsidiaries and/or related companies.

Job Responsibilities:

•      Assist with monthly internal and external reporting including budget comparisons and projections analysis (BU reporting).
  
  
•     Monthly financial statement analysis and creation, including consolidation and reporting.
  
  
•     Prepare schedules required for audits, including:  annual audit conducted by external CPA firm, state tax audits as required, internal sales and use tax audits for proficiency, and monthly internal audit, reconciliation, and analysis of sub ledgers.
  
  
•     Month end close including sub-ledger reconciliation to general ledger
  
  
•     Monthly reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet general ledger accounts
  
  
•       Filing/researching /tracking tax payments that include:  Sales/Use/Corporate Income.
  
  
•    Prepares entries for corporate allocations to projects, analyzes projects for accuracy in projections.
  
  
•    Assists with corporate subcontractor self-insurance program, including process and reporting.
  
  
•    Account reconciliation, tracking, and coding of insurance premiums and claims.
   
•    Assist with financial modeling and analysis of company initiatives.
  

Additional Activities/Responsibilities/Duties:

• Ad hoc reporting as requested by Accounting management.
• Assists operations with troubleshooting of Accounting and Viewpoint issues.
• Assists Accounting operations when necessary.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance or 5 years’ experience comparable to EMJ environment
  
  
•     Experience in Construction Accounting preferred, but not required
  
  
•     Exceptional knowledge and skills in general accounting.
  
  
•     Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  
  
•     Excellent communications skills
  
  
•     Well organized and able to accomplish a variety of tasks timely and efficiently.
  
  
•     Excellent computer skills using Viewpoint, SharePoint, MS Office (with an emphasis on Excel).
