RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate batch computer at various plants to produce concrete which meets Graniterock's exceptionally high quality standards. Responsible for continuous improvement of our batching performance as measured by SPC. Perform and document regularly scheduled plant maintenance and plant repairs, order and inventory materials. Operate loader, crane and forklift to load customer vehicles, work in the shop when needed. Perform all plant cleanup duties. Perform daily/monthly plant inspections. Identify, mitigate, and report safety concerns during shift. Assist in ensuring compliance with Cal-OSHA requirements. Responsible for Plant Environmental compliance. Work in alignment with Graniterock’s Family Vision, Core Purpose, Core Values, Strategic Priorities and business objectives.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent
SKILLS: Excellent heavy duty repair mechanical skills. Possess the ability to weld and repair the various systems on all batch plants. Ensure maintenance records are up-to-date, meet plant environmental compliance. Ability to display leadership and to identify and complete needed maintenance and improvements, working jointly with other team members with Safety above all else. Recordkeeping and computer skills for mix designs, ordering and inventorying parts. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to observe all Graniterock safe work practices and Graniterock policies and procedures.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 2 years plant mechanic maintenance and repair experience. Experience involving concrete, aggregate or asphalt plant operation, or working knowledge of Graniterock plant operation procedures.
DESIRED QUILIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Heavy Duty Mechanic (HDR) experience, forklift and crane training or certification, welding certification, ACI certification; SPC coursework.
SKILLS: Advanced understanding of computer batching controls, troubleshooting plant equipment and batch consoles; excellent mechanical skills
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: 5 years experience as a concrete batch plant operator.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must have valid CA Driver's License and clean driving record. Ability to work Saturdays, some nights. Ability to travel and work at various branches throughout Graniterock. Work is covered under a contact with the Operating Engineers Local 3.
Salary will be determined based on the individual’s knowledge, skills and experience. Ranges are aligned with market data and/or collective bargaining agreement rates.
